World War II veteran, a former German POW, is turning 100: War 'should be a last resort'
Fox News
A former German POW during World War II, Wally King of Ohio, will soon be celebrating his 100th birthday and will be marking the occasion with a return trip to Germany.
"All 16 [of the] boys were in military service in World War II," he told Fox News Digital in a phone interview. "Everybody wants to help you when you become a pilot." The German army was threatening to shoot anyone trying to escape Berlin. War is "something that should be a last resort." Christine Rousselle is a lifestyle reporter with Fox News Digital.
Since he was a child, King wanted to fly airplanes.
