'Within walking distance of CM's palace': Woman raped in Guntur, TDP attacks Jagan Reddy
India Today
A young woman was raped by two unidentified men while out with her fiancé in Tadepalli on Saturday evening. The incident prompted TDP's Nara Lokesh to raise questions about the safety of women in the state.
TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh on Monday launched a scathing attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy over the issue of women’s safety in the state, a day after a brutal rape case in Guntur came to light. Hitting out at the CM on the state of law and order in Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh jibed that the police in the state were busy investigating TDP leaders on trumped-up charges, "while doing nothing about the crimes taking place in their own backyard". “CM Jagan Reddy, did you know that a young woman was brutally raped by thugs within walking distance of your palace? What is your police, who make false allegations against TDP leaders across the state, doing to provide justice to the girl?” Nara Lokesh said in a series of tweets.More Related News
