
Why does Jay Leno's steam-powered car need gasoline?

Jay Leno was burned by gasoline while working on one of his classic steam cars, which use the fuel to heat a burner to create high pressure steam.
"I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am OK. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet," Leno told Fox News Digital. Gary Gastelu is Fox News Digital's automotive editor.
Leno's long-time mechanic George Swift told Access Hollywood that "he got sprayed with some gas" while working on one of his steam-powered cars.
