But what really happened during the NFL’s most active trade deadline of all time?
A lot of middling teams — the Cowboys, Bears and Ravens, for example — made deals to foster playoff pushes while many of the best teams stayed relatively quiet.

Suddenly, someone had hit a rewind button and everyone had been transported back seven months. It was early spring instead of late fall, it was broiling hot outside the arena walls and not freezing cold. Everyone was back at TD Garden.
