What's open and closed over the holiday season in Waterloo region

With Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year's Day on weekends, it means some services and offices will be closed for part of the upcoming week.
Curbside waste in the region will be collected as regularly scheduled and there is no change. The region asks people to have waste items at the curb by 7 a.m.
For people who want to take items to the dump, the region notes the waste transfer stations in Waterloo and Cambridge will be closed on Saturday, Monday, Jan. 1 and Jan. 3.
Grand River Transit will operate on a winter holiday schedule until Jan. 2.
Retail stores will set their own hours. The LCBO is closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Select stores will be open Dec. 26.
Region of Waterloo offices will be closed Dec. 25 to Dec. 28 and Jan. 3.
Seniors' Services administration for the region will be closed Dec. 25 to Dec. 28.
Kitchener city hall is closed Dec. 25 to Dec. 28 and Jan. 3. It also closes at noon on Dec. 31.
Cambridge city hall is closed until Jan. 3.
Waterloo city hall is closed until Jan. 3.
Waterloo Region Small Business Centre offices closed to Jan. 3.
The Kitchener Market will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
The Cambridge Farmers Market will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
Region of Waterloo Library branches will be closed Dec. 25 to 27 as well as on Jan. 1. There will be decreased hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 31.
