Keeping with the promise made in the Trinamool Congress(TMC) manifesto, the Mamata Banerjee government has approved the setting up of the Legislative Council or Vidhan Parishad in West Bengal. The decision was made earlier this week and will have to be approved by Parliament before coming into effect. And this may be another flashpoint between the Centre and the state. On Thursday, Mamata Banerjee hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that she was not allowed to speak in the meeting on the COVID-19 situation in the country and that the PM's approach was too casual.More Related News
