'We want Nobel Prize back': TMC's stern message to CBI on Rabindranath Tagore's birth anniversary

The Trinamool Congress's mouthpiece 'Jago Bangla' has questioned why the CBI couldn't recover Rabindranath Tagore's Nobel medallion and has demanded the central agency ensure its return to West Bengal at the earliest.
On Rabindranath Tagore's 161st birth anniversary, Trinamool mouthpiece 'Jago Bangla' has issued a stern message to CBI over Tagore's Nobel Prize theft case.
The mouthpiece reads, "Listen CBI. We want the Nobel Prize back."

In 2004, Tagore's Nobel medallion was stolen from the Visva-Bharati University in Shantiniketan. The CBI was handed over the case and it was closed in 2007. It was not able to retrieve the original medallion. In 2008, it was reopened by CBI. However, the case was closed in 2009.
On multiple occasions, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had asked the Centre to hand over the case to the Bengal government. The article in the TMC mouthpiece came at a time when seven cases from West Bengal have been handed over to the CBI in a matter of two months.
