Shreyas Iyer had a successful season with KKR personally putting up crucial runs on board. The Kolkata based side came back strongly in the second half of the tournament after a display start to their campaign.

Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer put up a heartfelt message via his social media after his team crashed out of the Indian Premier League 2022. The Kolkata-based team put up a valiant effort against Lucknow Super Giants in their final group stage match and narrowly lost the game by three runs while chasing a mammoth target of 210 runs.

Iyer said that he was proud of the effort that KKR had put in and they gave it all that they could in the field.

Kolkata Knight Riders had a turbulent campaign in the IPL this season after failing to find the right combination for the majority of the tournament. When push came to shove in the final five matches, Kolkata put up impressive performances with Andre Russell, Pat Cummins and Rinku Singh turning out to be the champions.

Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer put up a good showing in his first season with the franchise as well scoring 401 runs from 14 matches. The middle order batsman showed improvement in his tackling of short balls and was as brilliant as ever while playing spinners in tricky conditions.

As things stand, KKR would have to look for a new head coach after the departure of Brendon McCullum, who is set to assume England’s head coach position for the men’s Test team. KKR are expected to hunt for an opener and a wicket-keeping batsman next season to give their team better stability.
