Visakhapatnam couple blessed with twins two years after losing daughters in boat accident

Two years after a boat tragedy had taken away their two daughters, luck smiled on a couple from Visakhapatnam as they became parents of twins.

In 2019, Appala Raju and Bhagyalakshmi of Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam were a completely shattered couple after a boat tragedy in the Godavari river had snatched their two daughters. Two years later, they have been blessed with twins.

On September 15, 2019, a ferry sank in the Godavari river, near Kachuluru of East Godavari district, when Appala Raju and Bhagyalakshmi lost their one-year-old and three-year-old daughters. The children were travelling with their grandmother to an ancient Bhadrachalam temple, located at the bank of the Godavari in Bhdradri Kothagudem district of Telangana.
