Virginia's attorney general has launched an inquiry into the Washington Commanders following allegations of financial improprieties raised by a congressional committee.
Attorney General Jason Miyares, a Republican, disclosed his office's investigation in a letter to a team lawyer on Monday.
"To be clear, I have not prejudged the issues raised regarding the Commanders," he wrote in the letter obtained by CBS News. "However, I view it as my responsibility to carefully examine the material facts regarding this matter after it was brought to my attention."

The Trump administration deployed ICE and other Homeland Security agents to 14 of the nation's airports on Monday to help shuttle passengers through overcrowded TSA checkpoints.
