T20 World Cup: Former India cricketer and chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar, speaking to India Today, said he wants to see Virat Kohli bow out on a high by winning the T20 World Cup in the UAE. Kohli announced his decision to give up leadership role in the shortest format of the game.
Former India batsman Dilip Vengsarkar on Thursday said that Virat Kohli deserves to go out on a high as T20I captain and he hopes India win the T20 World Cup under his leadership in the UAE. Vengsarkar said Kohli would have taken the decision to give up T20I captaincy to focus on Test cricket.
Speaking to India Today, Vengsarkar said that Virat Kohli has not been able to replicate his success in the Tests and ODI format in T20Is and his poor Indian Premier League record as Royal Challengers Bangalore captain would have also influenced his decision to quit T20I captaincy.
