Vicky Kaushal’s blockbuster film, Chhaava, is moving at a records-shattering pace at the box office. The film, a historical drama based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, is running strongly on its tenth day of release today, and is expected to cross the Rs 400-crore mark in the upcoming days.
According to the tracking website Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 286.75 crores in India on its ninth day yesterday; globally, the film grossed Rs 343.35 crores until yesterday.
Day 9 in fact saw a humongous jump in numbers. While the Laxman Utekar-directed film collected Rs 23.5 crores on Friday, it collected Rs 44 crores on Saturday.
If the film maintains this pace at the box office in the upcoming days, the box office records of the blockbuster hit, Stree 2, which had taken two weeks to hit the Rs 400-crore mark.
The film, which hit the screens on February 14, 2025, has already become the biggest grosser in Vicky Kaushal’s career; on Saturday, it surpassed his previous best, 2019’s Uri: The Surgical Strike, which had collected ₹ 342 crores.
Bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, Chhaava features Akshay Khanna as Aurangzeb while Rashmika Mandanna plays Yesubhai Bhonsale.
