Vehicle drives into Yellowknife hotel leaving entrance way in ruins
CBC
Yellowknife's Explorer Hotel was left with extensive damage after a vehicle crashed into the hotel's lobby late in the day on Christmas Eve.
Authorities haven't yet reported on the crash and whether there were injuries. CBC News was unable to reach RCMP for comment or updates. Hotel staff directed CBC News to wait for a formal statement from management on the incident.
By about 5 p.m. the vehicle driven in to the hotel lobby had been removed, but online video and photographs show it was a compact SUV-class car.
The entrance way is not perpendicular to any driveway, but it is along a relatively steep access roadway incline.
