
UPSC topper scores 52.88%: What the toppers' list reveals

1071 marks out of 2025, roughly 52.88 per cent, were enough to secure Rank 1 in the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
At around 52 per cent of the total marks, India’s top civil services aspirants secured their ranks in the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025. Anuj Agnihotri, who secured Rank 1, scored a total of 1071 marks, which is roughly 52.9 per cent of the total marks.
The marks released by the commission show that the top-ranked candidates scored just above the halfway mark of the total 2025 marks, which include 1750 marks for the written mains examination and 275 marks for the personality test, taking the total to 2025.
His score included:
867 marks in the written mains examination
204 marks in the personality test (interview)
The marks show a balanced performance across both stages of the exam.
