QNADohaHis Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has received a written message from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, in which he expressed thanks and gratitude to HH the Amir for the support of Qatar and sending emergency winter relief materials to the Afghan capital, Kabul, by organizing an airlift on board four aircraft of the Qatari Armed Forces to transport 91 tons of relief materials.In his message, Grandi praised Qatar’s leading humanitarian role in Afghanistan and its support for the work of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for the benefit of displaced persons, especially at this critical time with the deteriorating economic and humanitarian conditions. Also, he expressed appreciation for the strong partnership between the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the State of Qatar, looking forward to furthering cooperation in this field.
