
Ukrainian cargo plane crashes over Greece: Residents were 'hearing explosions' for hours

Loud explosions were heard hours after a cargo plane operated by a Ukrainian carrier crashed near the city of Kavala, Greece. Aviation authorities said the plane was carrying mostly explosives.
The Greek aviation authorities just before the crash they made contact with the pilot, who reported a problem in one of the plane's engines and requested an emergency landing.
Authorities instructed the pilot to land at either the Thessaloniki or Kavala airports.
