UG even semester examinations of Mangalore University to be held from June 9 to July 15

Mangalore University to conduct semester exams, announce results on priority, introduce new programs, and face challenges with constituent colleges.
The Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University, P.L. Dharma, said on Thursday that even semester (second, fourth and sixth) undergraduate examinations of the university for the academic year 2024-25 will be conducted from June 9 to July 15.
About 62,000 students will appear for the examinations. Once the examinations are completed, the results of sixth-semester students will be announced on priority, he told the Academic Council meeting.
Mr. Dharma said that compared to other State universities in Karnataka, Mangalore University is one month ahead in completing the academic year 2024-25. When many other universities have yet to commence their sixth-semester classes, Mangalore University is on the verge of holding its sixth-semester examinations next month, he said.
Later, speaking to the media, the Vice-Chancellor said that the university has decided to start the first-semester undergraduate classes for 2025-26 from July 28.
The university is exploring the option of introducing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing programme on its campus at Mangalagangotri, starting from the academic year 2025-26. It will be an employment-driven course, he said.
Mr. Dharma stated that the university will introduce the Bachelor of Computer Application programme at its University College, Hampankatta in Mangaluru, commencing from the 2025-26 academic year, with an intake of approximately 30 students. The University College has already received about 800 applications for its various undergraduate courses for the 2025-26 academic year.
He said that the intake of students at the BBA (Tourism) programme at the University College will be increased, and the course will be made more vibrant. He said students will be made to undergo an internship for the entire semester, either in the fourth or sixth semester.
