Two more arrested in doctor's assault case in Covid hospital in Assam's Hojai district

The Assam Police has arrested two more people, including a woman, in connection with an alleged attack on a junior doctor at a Covid care centre in the Hojai district.

The Assam Police on Saturday arrested two more people, including a woman, in connection with an alleged attack on a junior doctor at a Covid care centre in the Hojai district, taking the total number of arrests to 28 so far. Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met the assaulted doctor, to enquire about his health. He also held a discussion with a delegation of the Assam state branch of the Indian Medical Association on several issues of doctors welfare, particularly the security of on-duty doctors.
