Two groups clash outside Kanyakumari police station over management of a mosque

A case was registered against 41 people for clashing outside Kanyakumari police station over an issue involving a mosque.
Two groups, who have been at loggerheads with each other over the management of a mosque, clashed outside a police station in Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari.
On May 2, the police had called the heads of the two groups to conduct a peace talk. The supporters of two groups who were waiting outside the station engaged in an argument that soon led to clashes.
Police officials tried separating the two groups but to no avail. Deputy SP Raja intervened and held a peace talk to send the two groups away.
Security has been beefed up to prevent any untoward incident from happening. A case has been registered against 41 people for indulging in clashes.
