Two people are dead after a crash on Highway 400 in Vaughan early Sunday morning, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Police received calls around 3:45 a.m. for a collision near Major Mackenzie Drive and Highway 400 between a transport truck and passenger vehicle, said OPP in an email to CBC News.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene and a third person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, they said.
All northbound lanes in the area are closed during the ongoing investigation. Drivers are being requested to avoid the area and plan accordingly.

Sarnia City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday morning to respond to social media comments made by Coun. Bill Dennis, who criticized city spending on a new mural by Indigenous artist Kennady Osborne as “virtue signalling by woke politicians” — then made a series of comments in response to a reply from Aamjiwnaang Chief Janelle Nahmabin that some have characterized as unprofessional and aggressive.
