In a message of support for Rahul Gandhi, his brother-in-law Robert Vadra exuded confidence that truth will prevail and the Congress leader will be exonerated of all “baseless accusations”.

Ahead of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s appearance before the Enforcement Directorate (ED), his brother-in-law Robert Vadra exuded confidence that the truth would prevail and he would be exonerated of all “baseless accusations”.

In a Facebook post, Vadra, who was named as an accused by the ED in a separate money laundering case, recalled his own encounters with the federal probe agency over the years.

“Rahul you will be undoubtedly exonerated, from all baseless accusations. I have 15 times been through summons and visits with Enforcement Directorate and have answered every question and delivered more than 23,000 documents, of my first Rupee earned till date (sic),” he wrote.

The businessman also hit out at the government for harassing Opposition leaders by lodging false cases and putting central agencies on their tail.

“I believe truth will prevail and these harassment of the prevailing dispensation. This government will not suppress people of the country by these methods of harassment, it will only make us all stronger people. We are here to fight each day for the truth and the people of the country stand with us (sic),” he added.

Rahul Gandhi set to appear before the Enforcement Directorate today in connection with the money laundering case pertaining to the National Herald-Associated Journals Ltd deal. Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi has also been summoned by the agency, but has been granted a brief reprieve on account of being down with Covid-19.

All Congress MPs and leaders have proposed to carry out a march in support of Rahul Gandhi, following in a foot procession as he heads to the ED office.
