Trump Commerce Secretary Flamed For 'Out Of Touch' Tequila Video

Howard Lutnick showed off a $1,200 bottle of tequila in a recent viral video while millions of Americans are set to be kicked off Medicaid.
President Donald Trump’s Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is getting slammed on social media as “gross,” “clueless” and “out of touch” over a recent video in which the billionaire Trump donor-turned-Cabinet member unveiled a $1,200 bottle of tequila.
The footage was shared Sunday on X, formerly Twitter, by an account named PatriotTakes, whose bio notes that it focuses on “right-wing extremism and other threats to democracy.” Lutnick had shared an Instagram story that showed him dressed in shorts and a T-shirt while unboxing his costly Besties All-In bottle.
“This is cool, how about that?” he says in the clip. “That’s amazing. And I love extra añejo.”
While some users congratulated Lutnick in the comments, others were stunned that he’d publicly flaunt a luxury good after Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which will kick millions of people off of Medicaid and curb eligibility for food assistance programs.
“His whole administration of millionaires and billionaires is so fuckin out of touch with the people,” wrote one user on X, with another person commenting: “Americans can’t afford healthcare and this loon does this. Totally out of touch.”
