Trey Lance could take his talents north of the border.
The 25-year-old free-agent quarterback, whose contract with the Cowboys expired earlier this month, has been added to the negotiation list for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, according to multiple reports.
Lance — the third overall pick by the 49ers in the 2021 NFL Draft — has yet to declare his next move as of Wednesday.
Lance has been a huge disappointment across four NFL seasons with the 49ers and the Cowboys, tallying only 143 pass attempts.

Lance appeared in eight games with four starts in his two seasons with the 49ers — getting surpassed by Brock Purdy on the depth chart — before he was traded to Dallas for a fourth-round draft pick in August 2023.
