Tourists throng Rajasthan’s Jaipur despite surge in Covid-19 cases

Even as states impose fresh restrictions in view of surge in Covid-19 cases, Rajasthan’s Jaipur has turned into a tourist hotspot as visitors arrive for New Year’s celebrations.
Hundreds of tourists have arrived in Rajasthan’s Jaipur for New Year’s celebrations despite the recent surge in coronavirus cases and concerns over the Omicron variant.
Crowds could be seen gathered at popular tourist hotspots in the city, several of them violating Covid-19 protocols. Outside the Albert hall in Jaipur, or near the historic Hawa Mahal, scores of tourists were seen taking selfies and group photos.
