Significant snowfall is expected in Toronto Friday, according to an alert from Environment Canada.
About eight to 12 cm of snow is forecasted to start later Friday morning and last into the evening, according to the alert.
“Snow will become locally heavy at times this afternoon resulting in areas of reduced visibility,” Environment Canada said in the boxing day alert.
The alert said to allow extra time for travel on Friday as the accumulation of snow will affect roadways and sidewalks.
