
Tornado warnings reported as severe weather strikes central US

Severe storms arrived as forecast on the evening of March 10, whipping up high winds, enormous hailstones and tornadoes.
Tornado watches and warnings are in effect across the central United States on the evening of March 10, as meteorologists track a line of severe thunderstorms moving across the country.
Several tornadoes and massive hail from Texas to Illinois had been reported by 7 p.m. Central Time. More than 15 million people were under a severe thunderstorm watch, including more than 10 million under tornado watches, according to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center.

Warm temperature records were set in several locations throughout the day, which was expected to help heat up the air and increase the risk for severe weather.
