Tokyo Olympics: PM Narendra Modi reviews India's preparedness for Games, to virtually connect with athletes

PM Narendra Modi was apprised about India's Olympic preparedness and he said he would connect virtually with Tokyo-bound athletes in July in a bid to encourage them.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reviewed India's Olympics preparation, 50 days in the lead up to the Games. On the occasion of 50 Days to Tokyo Olympics, a presentation was made by officials on various aspects of operational readiness for the upcoming Games. During the course of the review, PM Modi was apprised about the various steps taken towards ensuring uninterrupted training for athletes amidst the pandemic, participation in international competitions to win Olympic quota, vaccination of athletes, and customised support being provided to them. Officials reported about the vaccination status of and support staff. PM Modi directed that every qualified/probable athlete, support staff and officials travelling to the Tokyo Olympics must be vaccinated as soon as possible.More Related News
