Today at IPL 2022: MI look to avoid another low, face powerful LGG; RCB eye return to winning ways vs DC

Today at IPL 2022: Winless Mumbai Indians, who are under considerable pressure, take on Lucknow Super Giants while upbeat Delhi Capitals face Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are looking to shake off their defeat to Chennai Super Kings, on Saturday in Mumbai.

Winning for Mumbai Indians has become a necessity. The 5-time champions are under considerable pressure after starting IPL 2022 with 5 successive defeats. Rohit Sharma's men will look to get off the mark when they take on Lucknow Super Giants Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai in the first match of Saturday's double-header. Later in the day, Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to return to winning ways when they face an upbeat Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium.

The pressure on MI is evident in Rohit Sharma's body language. The calm and collected skipper has looked a bit jittery when he is out on the field, marshalling his troops. Rohit hasn't been able to bat with a lot of freedom at the top, failing more often than not. The skipper's dismal form has been a cause of concern as well -- 108 runs in 5 IPL 2022 games with a below-par average of 21.60.

More importantly, Mumbai Indians' bowling attack is looking like a shadow of its former intimidating self as Jasprit Bumrah has lacked the support that he had enjoyed over the years. Basil Thampi and Jaydev Unadkat haven't been able to impress while their overseas stars Tymal Mills and Daniel Sams have leaked aplenty.

On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants will look to return to winning ways after a close defeat to RR on Ssunday. Having had a 5-day break, KL Rahul's men will be raring to take the field and prove their defeat to the Royals was just a blip in what promises to be a fruitful campaign for the well-rounded squad.

Meanwhile, Faf du Plessis Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to shake off their defeat to Chennai Super Kings. However, it will not be easy for them as they face Delhi Capitals, who are looking to build a winning momentum after winning against KKR in their previous outing.
