A major bus accident was averted in Gujarat's Surat on Tuesday morning after the driver of the bus rammed it into a shop after realising that the brakes of the vehicle have failed. Watch the video here.
Presence of mind and timely action by a city bus driver averted a major accident in Surat on Tuesday morning. After the bus went out of control due to a brake failure, the driver rammed it into a nearby shop, saving the lives of at least five passengers on board.
It was when the bus was passing through Lal Darwaja, station road, the driver of the bus realised that the breaks of the vehicle have failed. The driver tried to apply the brake several times but it failed.
Therefore, he decided to crash the bus in a shop.
Exclusive CCTV footage accessed by India Today/AajTak group shows how the bus rammed into the shop. Since it was early in the morning, the shop was just about to open.
While a major accident was averted, three passengers sustained minor injuries.
