The Thunder Bay Police Service is investigating a death on the city's north side as a homicide.
In a media release issued Friday, police said officers responded to a 911 call around 3 p.m. on Thursday about a deceased 67-year-old man found in a residence in the 100 block of College Street.
Investigators believe the man may have been the victim of an "interrupted break-and-enter" at the home, and that the incident was not targeted.
Police have not yet provided any further details about the incident. Anyone with information, or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area on Thursday, is asked to contact police.
"We're asking anyone who may have dashcam video, or video surveillance in and around the 100 block of College Street, to come forward," Thunder Bay police acting inspector Chris Carlucci said at a media event on Friday afternoon.
Carlucci said police are looking for video captured between about 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Police are also looking into other break-and-enters that may have occurred recently in the area "to develop any additional leads we can."
Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
"This is a concerning incident," Carlucci said, adding people should "be mindful of their surroundings and if they do see anything suspicious ... notify police immediately."
