Three people killed in Sunday night crash in Wallaceburg

Three people are dead following a car crash in Wallaceburg Sunday night, Chatham-Kent police say.
Emergency personnel responded to a car crash between a car and a semi tanker truck shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday night on McNaughton Avenue. The car was carrying a driver and four passengers. Chatham-Kent police said in a statement the car entered McNaughton Avenue and struck the tractor trailer.
The driver, a 23-year-old woman, as well as a 24-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man who were passengers in the vehicle, all of Wallaceburg, were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 25-year-old Dover Township woman, also a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to a London hospital in critical condition with what police describe as life-threatening injuries.
The fourth passenger, a 22-year-old Wallaceburg woman, suffered injuries not considered life-threatening and was transported to a local hospital.
The driver of the tractor trailer suffered what police say are minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The traffic management unit of the Chatham-Kent Police Service has taken over the investigation.
