The houses were damaged in Moodubailu-Bellampally village in Udupi taluk. The total loses were estimated at ₹30,000, according to the Udupi Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Udupi district recorded 4 mm rainfall during this period.
Meanwhile, thundershowers, accompanied with lightning, continued in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Sunday. Rains lashed Mangaluru city too. Chokkadi in Sullia taluk received good rains.
According to India Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to occur in some areas in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi till May 1.
