Three persons were on Wednesday (December 18, 2024) arrested on charges of murdering two migrant workers from Odisha.
The deceased workers, R. Munna, 27, and S. Dhubaleshwar, 26, worked at a spinning mill at Veppadai near Pallipalayam in Namakkal district. On Tuesday (December 17, 2024) morning, the duo was found dead with injuries near a Tasmac outlet at Patharai.
The Veppadai police registered a murder case, and a special team was formed to nab the culprits.
Investigations revealed that they were beaten to death by other workers following a drunken brawl.
The police on Wednesday nabbed Rajan Laguri, 23, Mansing Gagrai, 20, and Dhasradh Bading, 21 — all natives of Jharkhand — who worked at the same mill as the deceased persons.
The accused were produced before the Komarapalayam Court and remanded in Salem Central Prison.
