The Ashes, 4th Test: Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow led England's resistance on a rain-affected final day after opener Zak Crawley's half century but Scott Boland and captain Pat Cummins led Australia to victory at the SCG. The hosts remain on course to an Ashes white wash.
England finally got a favourable result in the 2021/22 Ashes as their batters hung around until the end of a rain-affected Day 5 of the fourth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) to secure a draw. It came down to the last England wicket and James Anderson kept out Steve Smith, who had to bowl the last over as Australia could not bowl their fast bowlers due to bad light.
England ended their innings on 270/9 chasing a target of 388, seeing out a total of 102 overs.
