
Teyana Taylor reveals how kids 'keep me humble' during Oscar season

No one shuts down a red carpet quite like Teyana Taylor.
This awards season, the Harlem native has stopped traffic in Burberry, Schiaparelli and Tamara Ralph gowns as she touts “One Battle After Another,” which earned her a best supporting actress Oscar nomination and Golden Globe win.
The multihyphenate credits her panache to young daughters Junie, 10, and Rue, 5, with ex-husband Iman Shumpert.
“They’re my co-stylists,” Taylor says with a laugh, chatting by phone the morning after the Super Bowl. “With the big awards shows, I design directly with the designer. And then I turn to my babies like, ‘What y’all think about this? Do I do the one with the party in the back or the party in the front?’ ”
Her kids even offer their own chic suggestions, “like, ‘Ooh, Mommy, what’s this?’ ” Taylor adds. “They’re about to be fashionistas. They definitely have final approval on how I walk out that door.”
