Texas school district approves policy allowing some employees to be armed
Fox News
A Texas school board approved a policy change that would allow some staff members to carry firearms on campus after undergoing specialized training.
The district said the policy change is in direct response to the May 24 Uvalde shooting that left 19 children and two adults dead at Robb Elementary School. Bradford Betz is a Fox News Digital breaking reporter covering crime, political issues, and much more.
Under the new policy, some employees would become "guardians" voluntarily and would have to meet certain firearm training and other requirements. District leaders could remove the employee’s authorization status at a moment’s notice.
