Texas abortion law stays in place after federal appeals court sides with the state

Texas' controversial abortion law will remain in place for the time being, after a federal appeals court on Thursday granted the state's request to suspend a federal judge's ruling that barred it from being enforced. The court had previously placed a temporary hold on the federal judge's decision to give it time to consider Texas' request.
The three-judge panel voted 2-1. The Department of Justice, which sued Texas over the law, is able to appeal the decision.

The Trump administration deployed ICE and other Homeland Security agents to 14 of the nation's airports on Monday to help shuttle passengers through overcrowded TSA checkpoints.
