Tamil Nadu Minister promotes handloom products in Andhra Pradesh market, Co-Optex showrooms upgraded for better consumer interface.
Tamil Nadu Minister for Textiles and Handloom R. Gandhi has announced that all possible steps would be taken to promote the unique handloom and textile products of Tamil Nadu in the Andhra Pradesh market and beyond.
On Tuesday, December 31, he inaugurated the modernised showroom of Co-Optex, the Tamil Nadu version of APCO. Of the 150 Co-Optex showrooms nationwide, 44 are outside Tamil Nadu.
“Eight showrooms located in Andhra Pradesh and three in Telangana are where the unique handloom products of Tamil Nadu are getting good patronage,” he said. Co-Optex has provided a better interface with consumers by upgrading showrooms and developing a mobile app to sell its products online, Mr. Gandhi said, indicating the growing acceptance of the products by the Tamil diaspora across the globe.
Tirupati MLA Arani Srinivasulu and former MLA M. Sugunamma recalled Co-Optex’s long-lasting association with the undivided Chittoor district, which shared a border with Tamil Nadu. Co-Optex managing director Deepak Jacob also participated.
