Tamil Nadu: Madurai Medical College staffer caught stealing Remdesivir vials on video

As Tamil Nadu continues to tackle black marketing, a video of Madurai Medical College staffer being involved in the illegal sale of Remdesivir has gone viral.

The sharp rise in Covid-19 cases has increased the demand for Remdesivir, with black marketeers cashing in on the opportunity. One vial of Remdesivir, which generally costs Rs 1,400, is being sold at Rs 25,000 in the black market. Private hospitals have also said that the drug was not available due to high demand.
