In his new book, "Over Ruled," Supreme Court Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch is concerned that too many Americans are "caught by surprise" by a vast swath of unreasonable laws.

"The best I can do is share with you what I have seen from my unusual vantage in our legal system." Maureen Mackey is managing editor of lifestyle for Fox News Digital.

Sure, "some law is essential to our lives and our freedoms," he notes early on in the book.
