The supporters of former Karnataka minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, waved black flags, threw slippers and stones at state Congress chief DK Shivakumar's cavalcade during his visit to Belagavi.

Massive protests took place against Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar during his visit to Belagavi on Sunday. The protesters, who were supporters of former state minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, waved black flags, threw slippers and stones at DK Shivakumar's cavalcade during his visit to the area. Shivakumar is in Belagavi as Satish Jarkiholi, the Congress candidate for the Belagavi Lok Sabha seat will be filing his nomination for the upcoming bypolls. Responding to the protests against him, DK Shivakumar said "this welcome" will strengthen him more.
