Super Mario Bros. 2 video game sells for $88K at auction
Fox News
The Nintendo game had been found still sealed in its original packaging inside of a walk-in closet earlier this year.
The Harritt Group Inc. auction house and real estate company announced that the 1988 video game had sold for $88,550 (this number includes the auction house’s premium charge as well). According to the listing, the game was considered so valuable because it was still in the original packaging, which had never been opened.
According to listing on Harritt Group, this game had been found in the back of a "crowded walk-in closet in Floyds Knob, Indiana." It had been found with a collection of other opened games.
