Steve Harmison alleged that India were reluctant to take the field at Old Trafford because they would have had to quarantine for a longer duration than expected if they contracted coronavirus any time during the Manchester Test, which would have forced them to miss the a few games of IPL 2021 in the UAE.

Former England fast bowler Steve Harmison criticised the Indian team and blamed the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the cancellation and eventual postponement of the Manchester Test on Friday. The fifth and final Test between England and India got postponed indefinitely after Covid-19 hit the visiting camp, infecting four of their support staff members.
