
Stage set for Ugadi Mahotsavams at Srisailam

Srisailam temple prepares for five-day Ugadi Mahotsavams with deity processions, water supply, medical facilities, and sanitation measures.
The Srisailam temple administration has made all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the five-day Ugadi Mahotsavams staring March 27 (Thursday).
According to Srisailam Temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao, the processional deities of Goddess Bhramaramba and Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy will be taken out on vahana sevas on the first three days and on the last day. Similarly, Goddess Bhramaramba will be adorned in different avatarams during the festivities.
On the first day (March 27), Brungi Vahana seva will be performed followed by Kailasa Vahana seva on the second day (March 28) followed by Nandi Vahana seva on third day (March 29). Goddess Bhramaramba will be adorned in Mahalakshmi avataram on the first day followed by Maha Durga, Maha Saraswati, Sri Ramavani sevita Rajarajeswari avaratams respectively on the second, third and fourth days.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao said Prabhotsavam and Agnigunda Pravesam will be performed on March 29 while Radhotsavam will be held on March 30. On the last day (March 31), Purnahuthi will be performed and the processional deities will be taken out on a ride on Aswa Vahanam.
Large number of devotees from Karnataka and Maharashtra have already reached the hill shrine walking kilometres together and the temple administration made arrangements for water and other basic facilities.
Elaborating on the arrangements, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said temporary sheds were made available at several places in the temple town to provide respite from the sweltering heat. The temple town has been illuminated and Annaprasadam is being done at the Annapurna Bhavan near the temple. The temple administration is also extending its support to the NGOs and philanthropists who are coming forward to provide food to the pilgrims.
The temple administration has made arrangements to supply more than one crore litres of water during the festivities and more than 450 water pumps have been arranged in the temple town and its surroundings. Water tanks were also arranged on the ring road, gardens, and other open places. A total of 34 RO plants were also made available.
