Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh: Niroshan Dickwella and Ramesh Mendis frustrate Bangladesh further on Day 2

SL vs BAN 2nd Test, Day 2: Hosts Sri Lanka piled up more runs after hundred from Dimuth Karunaratne and Lahiru Thirimanne on Thursday. At the end of the rain-marred day Niroshan Dickwella and Ramesh Mendis were unbeaten on 64 and 22 respectively.

Sri Lanka lost 5 wickets on Day 2 but piled up 178 more runs to end at 469/6 when bad light forced early stumps against Bangladesh in the 2nd Test in Kandy. The hosts have accumulated 291 runs for the loss of only one after hundreds from captain Dimuth Karunaratne and Lahiru Thirimanne on Thursday. Lahiru Thirimanne went on to score 140 before getting out to Taskin Ahmed while Oshada Fernando missed out on a well-deserved century. Fernando was dismissed by Mehidy Hasan for 81.
