The hosts are trailing Bangladesh's 1st innings total of 541/7d by 29 more runs. With only a day left, the Test match is heading towards a draw.

The first test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at Kandy is heading for a high-scoring draw after the hosts finished on 512 for three in reply to Bangladesh’s 541/7d on Day 4 on Saturday. Captain Dimuth Karunaratne hit his maiden double hundred and was well backed up by Dhananjaya de Silva, who was unbeaten on 154 as play was called off early on due to bad light.
