South Africa vs India: Virat Kohli goes past Rahul Dravid in unwanted list after getting out for 0 in 2nd ODI

South Africa vs India: Virat Kohli came up with a shocking check drive as he was dismissed for 0 in the 2nd ODI by left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj in Paarl on Friday.

Former captain Virat Kohli came up with a shocking shot that led to his dismissal in the 2nd ODI against South Africa at the Boland Park in Paarl on Friday, January 2021. Kohli fell for 0 after facing just 5 balls, chipping left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj to the cover fielder in Temba Bavuma.

Virat Kohli just checked his shot and it appeared like a lazy effort as he gave his wicket away in the 13th over of the Indian innings after captain KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bat in a do-or-die game.

SA v IND, 2nd ODI: Live Updates

It was the 14th time Virat Kohli has been dismissed for a duck in ODI cricket and it's the first time a spinner has got the former captain out for no-score in the 50-over format of the game.

With the duck on Friday, Virat Kohli went past former captain and current head coach, Rahul Dravid, and Kapil Dev on an unwanted list of India batters with most 0s in ODI cricket.

Virat Kohli has now gone 64 innings without a hundred in international cricket and it's the 7th time he has gotten out for 0 in the said period.

Kohli, who stepped down as India's Test captain after their Test series defeat in South Africa earlier this month, began a new chapter as a non-captain with a superbly-paced fifty in the first ODI in Paarl on Wednesday. However, he was not able to keep the ball down when going for a drive against Keshav Maharaj in the 2nd ODI.
