India vs South Africa, Boxing Day Test Predicted Playing XI: Will ex-vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane lose his spot in India's playing XI in the first Test against South Africa, which starts on Boxing Day in Centurion.
India will be gunning for their maiden Test series win in South Africa when the Virat Kohli-led side locks horns with the hosts in the Boxing Day match, starting from December 26 in Centurion. It will be followed by the second Test at Wanderers in Johannesburg from January 3 to 7 and the third Test at Newlands in Cape Town from January 11 to 15.
India last visited South Africa in 2017/18, in which they lost the three-Test series 2-1. However, since then, India have recorded consecutive Test series victories in Australia and lead England 2-1 in an incomplete series. This is going to be India's eighth Test series in South Africa. However, as it stands, no Indian team in the last 29 years has been able to win a Test series in South Africa and this time around Virat Kohli and his men are looking to create history.
