South Africa vs India: Hosts South Africa have suffered a major blow as in-form Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the upcoming 3-Test series. Cricket South Africa are yet to name a replacement.

South Africa have suffered a major blow ahead of the 3-Test series against India as express pacer Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of a "persistent injury", Cricket South Africa said on Tuesday. Nortje, who had been in fine form in the Indian Premier League and the T20 World Cup, was expected to add firepower to the South African pace attack against the Virat Kohli-led touring side.

"He has unfortunately not recovered adequately for the expected Test match bowling loads and is currently consulting with specialists to manage and advise on his recovery. No replacement will be brought in," CSA said in a statement.
