South Africa vs India: KL Rahul scored a half century in what was his first match as India's Test captain in the 2nd match in Johannesburg before falling on 50 to Marco Jansen off a sharp catch from Kagiso Rabada.

Riding on the back of a historic win in Centurion, the Indian cricket team sprung a surprise when KL Rahul walked out for the toss to kickstart the proceedings on Day 1 of the 2nd Test against South Africa.

While injured Virat Kohli's absence was surely a massive boost for South Africa, Rahul's ascension to captaincy seemed to make an immediate impact as he won the toss for India before opting to bat. And, later in the day, the Indian opener gave fans another reason to cheer for as he notched up a brilliant fifty on debut as Test captain.
